DEAR ENQUIRER: STOP IT.

Just to see if the folks at cincinnati.com and/or cincyblogs.com are paying attention:

PLEASE GET TCM’S CONTENT OFF OF YOUR WEBSITE.  YOU DIDN’T ASK TO USE IT, AND IF YOU HAVEN’T NOTICED, WE’RE NOT YOUR BIGGEST FANS.  PLEASE REMOVE THECINCINNATIMAN.COM FROM YOUR DUMB AGGREGATOR TOUT DE SUITE.

An apology would be nice, also.  That is all.

T-Minus Two Days: The Cincinnati Man Evolves/Dies/Whatever You Want to Call It.

So, I noted last week that TCM would be laid to rest and that there’d be a new project springing forth following that.

Whelp, that change is going to happen on Wednesday, and it’s called…

CinAwesome!

It’s a simple idea: we want to be the repository for awesome stuff in and around Cincinnati.  The hook: you get to decide what’s awesome, what isn’t, and you get to post your own stuff to have people decide upon its degree of awesomeness (or non-awesomeness, for that matter).

The site will be available first thing on December 1, and we’ll be in the process of putting together various finishing touches over the next week.  The site itself, however, will be fully functional, and we couldn’t be more excited.

We’ll be keeping the same Twitter account (albeit changing the name a bit), and this URL will automatically direct to CinAwesome! for the time being starting Wednesday.  I’ll have news about TCM’s new placeholder address when I get it set up.  Shouldn’t be more than a couple weeks.

If you need anything, have any ideas, or any junk like that, you can get in touch with me at jason@jasonmcglone.com.  Thanks a million, folks.  You’ve been champs–and I hope you’ll love the shit out of CinAwesome!

Good Night and Good Luck, Folks.

Whelp, that’s it.  The Cincinnati Man is just about over.  It was fun while it lasted.

You’ve no doubt noticed our frequency winding down over the past few months, and if you’re anything resembling close reader (or a TCM Podcast listener), you’ve probably inferred that it’s been leaning this way for quite a while.  A few weeks ago, I made the executive decision to close up the TCM shop and move on.  There are a couple reasons for this.

Chiefly, I’m bored with it.  I’ve got a couple other things I’m working on (one of which you’ll know about soon), and those have just taken up more of my time.  Lost the fire.  Call it what you will.

Secondly: you’re probably bored with it, too.  So, I’m moving on.

So, what’s next?  I’ve been working on a new site that’s got a bit of a clearer direction and will be making an announcement about it in the next few days.  While I can’t guarantee loads of vitriol about our local media spewing from my fingertips, I can guarantee that you’ll have the opportunity to make that happen with this next project.  Too, some of the same folks you know and love from TCM will be hauling ass to the new site with me. So, there’s that.

Once I get everything put together (which will be really soon), I’ll be moving TCM’s database and files to a new address, just so it’ll have a place on the web, but I probably won’t be doing anything further with it.  I’ll let you know when that happens, and where it’ll be.

Sit tight.  More to come soonly.

So, I Went to the Bengals/Bills Game…

Yeah, I went to the Bengals-Bills tilt yesterday. Ouchy. Not much right about the whole experience, other than it was a nice afternoon with my nephew. All told, though, I think these fans the next section over from us had it right:

Yes, they’re both asleep.  That’s pretty much how I felt at the beginning of the 4th quarter.  Ugh.

Football, I hereby break up with you.  At least until the beginning of the 2012 season (when you no doubt return), pending the outcome of the Cincinnati Reds’ 2011 and 2012 playoff campaigns.  Maybe forever.  We’ll see.  You’re way too stupid to take seriously anymore.  And I sort of hate you.

Meet my old/new/returning hobby thing, football: comic books.  They may let me down, but they don’t shit the bed against the Buffalo Bills.

Ugh.

#6: Where Did We Go Wrong? [The Cincinnati Man Podcast]

In this episode of The Cincinnati Man Podcast, we talk about the Bengals sellout streak and its impending end, the McRib, Harvey Westmoreland and his forced beard-eating, and after that everything pretty much goes into the terlet/gutter, if you know what I mean.
